About BroTalk

What is BroTalk?

BroTalk is a free, confidential and anonymous service that provides counselling and information to help teen guys (and those who identify as male) tackle their challenges and stresses, big or small. Whatever you’re dealing with, you don’t have to face it alone. Chat or Phone, we’re here to support you.

Is this service for me?

BroTalk provides support and resources to teens primarily from ages 14 to 18. You can talk with us one-on-one about anything that’s troubling you. There’s no issue that’s too small to reach out to us about. We’ll help empower you to move forward and take on your challenges.

Who's behind the service?

BroTalk is a service of Kids Help Phone and is made possible initially thanks to generous funding from the Movember Foundation, the leading global men’s health charity.

Throughout the development of the website,  a youth advisory committee, made up of young men from across Canada, was consulted for their feedback and recommendations; the committee tested out our ideas to ensure that we developed services and resources that properly support and resonate with young men.

Our BroTalk counsellors, are available for one-on-one support. They understand the challenges of teen guys and have the expertise and experience to guide and support you on a wide range of issues such as:

  • Stress
  • Life balance
  • Relationships
  • Bullying
  • Substance use
  • Sexual orientation
  • Gender identity
  • Suicide
  • Depression and other mental health concerns or disorders.

Big or small challenge, day or night, there’s always someone here for you.

Counselling is available by phone 24/7 and via Live Chat – both are offered in English and French. In English Chat is open Wednesday - Sunday from 6pm - 2am EST. Find out when Live Chat is open in your province.

Kids Help Phone is a Canadian and world leader known for our expertise and continuous innovation as Canada’s only 24/7 counselling and information service for young people. Since 1989, our trained, professional counsellors have been listening to kids, often when no one else can or will. We are always there – supporting young people wherever and whenever they need us most.
